Before installing
Read the component’s manifest, files, and dependencies. A Markdown instruction file can affect agent behavior; a native plugin or supporting script can execute code when used. A dry-run reports planned file operations and conflicts, not a security analysis of the contents. Prefer registries whose publisher and update process you trust. HTTPS protects transport to that host, but a registry’s own file hash is not proof of publisher identity. What OCX checks
- Registry protocol and supported manifest fields.
- Portable file paths and reserved destinations.
- Source and managed-path symlinks, ownership collisions, and unmanaged existing files.
- Recorded file hashes before update or removal.
- Dependency requirements and complete file-set changes.
- Concurrent OCX mutations through locks and recoverable transaction records.
--force approves replacement or deletion of changed owned files. It does not relax the path or ownership rules.

Profile boundaries
Profiles choose native configuration. They share OpenCode’s credential store, session history, and other native data. They do not create separate user accounts or confine filesystem/network access.projectConfig: "ignore" disables initial project config and instruction discovery. OpenCode can still load nearby AGENTS.md guidance when reading a project file. This was also possible in V1. See the concrete example.
Configure tool permissions and trusted integrations through native OpenCode. An OCX registry source is separate from a native plugin package or MCP server.
